Homelessness charity Emmaus North Staffs has launched its latest campaign, Beds for Kids, tackling an urgent need to provide free beds to local children.
The charity says that ‘in recent times, we’ve sadly seen a big increase in the number of families asking for beds for their children’.
Having very little sleep or no sleep can have serious affects, and especially to the physical and mental development of a young child.
John Webbe, the charity’s Executive Lead, said: “We speak to hundreds of families each month, and for a child to be able to have their own comforts has such a positive impact in so many ways and transforms their lives for good.
“Thanks to the support of a group of local businesses, we’ve already given away eight children’s Bed Packs to families in need. Each Bed Pack includes a brand new child’s bed, mattress and all bedding.”
The charity is now looking for more support from local businesses and others able to help.

A £150 donation enables the charity to provide a complete brand new Bed Pack (with bed, mattress & bedding) for a child in Stoke-on-Trent and surrounding areas.
