Team up for Lord Mayor’s Civic Football Tournament

Stoke-on-Trent Lord Mayor, Faisal Hussain, is hosting an inaugural five-a-side football tournament in February, and is now inviting players of all abilities to team up to enter.

The event will raise money for civic charities The Hubb Foundation and Brighter Futures.

The tournament will take place from 1pm on Friday 17 February at Fenton Manor Sports Complex.

Squads of no more than eight players are allowed, and each game will last 10 minutes, in a fast-paced knockout tournament.

Entry is £80 per team, and players must be aged 18 or over to register. People can still sponsor, if they are unable to take part in the tournament.

Registration takes place at 12pm on tournament day, with a trophy awards presentation by the Lord Mayor for the winning teams.

Parking permits will be made available to the participants of your team to park on Fenton Manor Leisure Centre car park. Refreshments will also be available.

To register a team, call the Lord Mayor’s Office on: 01782 236663, or email

The deadline to register is Monday 6 February.
